Disney World theme park maps, The Animal Kingdom
Disney World theme park maps highlight all the attractions and things to do at the various parks on Disney property. There is a basic structure to all Disney World theme park maps. The map for the Animal Kingdom is an excellent example of how the Disney World theme park maps are organized.
There is always a map of the park that has all the attractions, restaurants and stores plotted out. The parade route is marked as well so you know where to find a spot should you want to watch it. The legend is then organized by "land." For example, there are seven lands at the Animal Kingdom: Oasis, Discovery Island, Africa, Asia, Camp Minnie-Mickey, Dinoland USA and Rafiki's Planet Watch. Under each division you have three subdivisions: attractions, shopping and dining. These various elements are then numbered and color-coded depending on the various lands where they are located. There is also a separate list of amenities that include restrooms, smoking areas, first aid and many other beneficial elements to the park. While it sounds confusing, it's actually an excellent, visual way to make the Disney World theme park maps very easy to read and decipher.

Disney World theme park maps are printed on a regular basis so that they are always up to date and accurate. If you are interested in visiting one of the popular shows at the Animal Kingdom like Festival of the Lion King or Flights of Wonder, there is a separate show schedule that can be picked up along with your Disney World theme park maps. They print the showtimes separately due to the possibility of cancellations and changes within the schedule. It's easier for Disney to reprint the show schedule as opposed to the entire Animal Kingdom map. Disney World theme park maps, as shown by the Animal Kingdom map, can be useful tools in figuring out what is located in each park and whether or not you are interested in doing everything that is on the map.
